Obituary of Rose C. (DalPozzol) Girolimon
Rose C. (DalPozzol) Girolimon 96 years, wife of the late Mario Girolimon, died Thursday at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody.
Mrs. Girolimon was born on December 26, 1907 in Crystal Falls Michigan daughter of the late Bernardo and Armida (Pronovi) DalPozzol. She was raised and educated in Michigan. She resided in Connecticut before moving to Peabody in 1932.
Mrs. Girolimon began her working career at Eastman Gelatine Corporation in Peabody and then worked for several years at Enterprise Department Store in Salem. From 1946 until her retirement in 1970 she was employed as an office clerk at Webber Department Store in Salem. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid Red Sox fan that witnessed their 2004 World Series win.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Louis P. and Carolina A. Cory Girolimon of Peabody; a daughter, Clara D’ Amico of Oakville CT; a sister, Mary Zuffelato of Seminole FL; 7 grandchildren, Patricia Horbal, Joseph D’ Amico, Robert D’ Amico, Thomas D’ Amico all of CT, Dina Howcroft, Richard Girolimon both of Peabody and Nancy Lamontagne of NH; 16 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by a daughter, Gloria A. Sahk, a grandson, Lance Corporal Louis M. Girolimon USMC and her siblings, Peter and Damiano DalPozzol and Victor DalPozzal.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 7 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
