Obituary of Alfred J. Renda

Alfred J. Renda, 74, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Connie (Centamori) Renda with whom he shared over 46 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Agrippino and Angelina (Bellino) Renda. He was raised and educated in Chelsea, attended Chelsea Public Schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He has been living in Peabody for the past 41 years. He was a veteran of Korean War, who served with the United States Air Force. After the war, he worked as a meat cutter and packer, first for Roxy Meat Market and later at NEPCO in Boston, before retiring a few years ago. He enjoyed traveling to Foxwood’ s and Mohegan Sun Casinos in Connecticut. He also was an avid Red Sox fan and most of all, liked spending time with his family. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Renda of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and John Carey of Billerica; a brother, George Renda; two sisters, Lena Bellino of Stoneham and Mary Turner of Peabody; two grandchildren, Matthew St. Pierre and Felicia Carey, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mario, Salvi, and John Renda. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur FH, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. And Monday, 2 to 5 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody
