Obituary of Matthew Robert Vecchione
Matthew Robert Vecchione,22, of Peabody, a senior at Northeastern University in Boston died unexpectedly Wednesday November 10 at Union Hospital in Lynn.
Mr. Vecchione was born on September 14, 1982 in Stoneham son of Robert P. and Linda (Ricupero) Vecchione and resided in Revere for 5 years before moving to Peabody 17 years ago. He graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School class of 2000. During his high school years he played hockey, la crosse and football.
While at Northeastern University, he was taking courses in business and marketing and worked for the Boston Stock Exchange in conjunction with the Northeastern co-op program. He enjoyed vacationing in Cancun and the islands. According to his many friends, they related that
Matt lived for his friends and his friends lived for Matt
He is survived by his parents of Peabody, his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Vecchione of Revere, 2 aunts and 2 uncles, Richard and Karen Vecchione of Danvers and Michael and Terry Ricupero of Lawrence and many cousins. He was the grandson of the late Peter Vecchione, Dennis and Lillian Ricupero.
His Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of your choice.
