Obituary of Anna (Zukowski) Zayac

Anna (Zukowski) Zayac, 89, wife of the late Edward Zayac, died Sunday morning at the Phillips Manor Nursing Home in Lynn. Mrs. Zayac was born on June 18, 1917 in Worcester daughter of the late Ludwig and Wladyslawa (Rojceski) Zukowski . She was raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Mt. Carmel H.S. She resided in Lynn before moving to Peabody in the late 1940’s. Mrs. Zayac was employed for many years at GTE Sylvania in Danvers as a florescent light bulb tester until the early 1950’s. She was a member of the Russian Aid Society, the Peabody Council on Aging and was well known at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody. She also loved rug hooking, making dresses and hats. As hobbies she enjoyed traveling and reading. She is survived by a son and his wife, Paul S. and Leslie Zayac of Billerica; a brother, Anthony Zukowski of Pelham NH; 2 sisters, Stella Dumblauski of Saugus and Sophie Novakowski of Lynn; 2 grandchildren and their wives, Mark and Alicia Zayac of Peabody, Jeffrey and Michelle Zayac of Lynn; a great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Zayac of Lynn; 2 step granddaughters and their husbands, Eileen and Sean McKenney of Billerica and Amy and Bill Hultgren of Lynn; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her siblings Al and John Zukowski predeceased her. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new facility) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
