Obituary of Richard Leo Doucette

Richard Leo Doucette, 65, of Beverly died Sunday at the Ledgewood Nursing Home, Beverly after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Loretta (Surman) Doucette with whom he shared 39 years of marriage. He was born in Salem on September 20, 1939, the son of Frank Doucette of Salem and the late Anna (Jeffrey) Doucette and was a graduate of Salem High School and Northeastern University . He was a chemical engineer at the GTE Sylvania Co. now Osram at the Danvers Plant for 40 years prior to his recent retirement. He was an excellent handy man and enjoyed fixing things around the house. Surviving him besides his wife of Beverly and Father of Salem are a son and daughterin-law, David and Stephanie Doucette of Nahant, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Wendy Doucette of Beverly and Heddie and Kevin Lang of Newton, NH, a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Norman Cheney of Salem, 4 grandchildren, Nicholas, Isabelle and Sophia Lang of Newton, NH and Elizabeth Doucette of Nahant and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly at 11:00 AM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Nat.
