Obituary of Maria Leontina (de Medeiros) Almeida

Maria Leontina (de Medeiros) Almeida, 82, of Peabody, died Wednesday November 17, 2004 in California following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Jose S. Almeida. Born and raised on St. Michael Island, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Maria (Ascencao) Medeiros. She resided in Peabody for over thirty years and has spent the last 10 years being cared for by family in California. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody and was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Mrs. Almeida is survived by two sons; Jose E. Almeida of Peabody and Gilberto Almeida of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Mrs. Fatima Lucas of California, Mrs. Eduarda Neopolitano of Pennsylvania, and Ms. Dina Belanger of Peabody; a brother, Francisco de Medeiros and a sister, Eduarda Raposo, both of Peabody, and is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Monday art 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 6 until 9 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem
