Obituary of Sophie (Demopoulos) Petradelis

Sophie (Demopoulos) Petradelis, 89, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Pelopidas Pelop Petradelis who died in 1984. She was born and raised in Dover, NH, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Aristea (Tsaltas) Demopoulos and had resided in Peabody for the past 64 years. She had been employed at the former GTE Sylvania Boston St., Salem plant in the Par 38 area for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1970. She had been a member of the Peabody Council on Aging and St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Emmanuel Mike and Patricia Petradelis and John Pepsi and Pauline Petradelis all of Peabody, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Eva Demopoulos and Steve and Lily Demopoulos all of Dover, NH, 2 grandchildren, Sophia and her husband Jonathan Petromelis of Peabody and George and his wife Danielle Petradelis of Hamilton,a step-grandson, Jay Martarano and his wife Filopmena and their children,Vanessa and Jason all of Peabody, 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Eleni Petromelis of Peabody and Celeste and Chloe Petradelis of Hamilton, a sister-in-law, Kiki Demopoulos of Dover, NH and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Demetra Moutsoulas, George and John Demopoulos. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by Services in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
