Obituary of George Lewis Keith

George Lewis Keith, 63, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Friday at the Salem Hospital where he was rushed after taking an ill turn while shopping. He was born in Peabody on April 2, 1941, the son of the late George E. and Barbara (Ferguson) Keith Condon and was raised in Salem before moving back to Peabody. He was a graduate of Salem Vocational School in 1959 and following graduation served a term with the US Marine Corps. He was first employed in the Leather industry in Peabody for 15 years. Later, he became a machinist at the General Electric Co., West Lynn Plant for 10 years prior to a disability retirement 12 years ago. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, especially his Ford Maverick, boating and fishing and had a fond loved of animals, He is survived by two sons and their wives, George Michael and Lisa Keith of Peabody and Christopher Lewis and Sharon Keith of Salem, two sisters an brothers-in-law, Diane and Raymond Snell of Northwood, NH and Donna and John Kozlowski of Danvers, a brother and sister-in-law, William & Brenda Condon of Danvers, 4 grandchildren, Christopher L Jr., Sharon Elizabeth Keith and Michael W. Ronci all of Beverly and Stacey Keith of Peabody, his companion of 17 years, Lucy Luz of Peabody, his cat Shadow and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Philip Keith. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. A Visitation will be held form 12 Noon until 1:00 PM prior to the Service. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
