Obituary of Elizabeth C. (Stuke) Torrance
Elizabeth C. (Stuke) Torrance, 81, of, Peabody, died Saturday afternoon at the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Edmund W. Torrance.
Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late David and Evelyn (Smith) Stuke. She was raised and educated in Malden, later lived in Saugus, and has lived in Peabody for the past 30 years.
She worked as a cosmetic manager for Rich’ s Department Store in Salem for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, cooking, and being with her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edmund Skip and Lyn Torrance of Danvers; a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Charles Rollins of Lynnfield; three grandchildren, Tiffany Currie, Sean Rollins, and Kimberly Torrance, a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Currie and several nieces, nephews and many friends from the Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She was the sister of the late Lois Arsenault and Dolly Cavanaugh.
A private memorial service was held this morning with burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
