Obituary of Nancy W. (Elwell) Bergin

Nancy W. (Elwell) Bergin PEABODY—Nancy W. (Elwell) Bergin, 82, beloved wife of the late Roger Bergin, died Monday evening at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late Walcott and Mildred (Thompson) Elwell. She lived there in her youth and attended schools there. She graduated from Melrose High School. Mrs. Bergin lived in Peabody for the last 52 years, and enjoyed nurturing her family, hosting social gatherings, cooking for family and friends, traveling, dancing, swing music, and quiet time reading. She worked with Laidlaw Transportation as a Bus Driver for many years, then as a Bus Monitor. She recently was a Bus Monitor with LBK Transportation before retiring last fall. She will be dearly missed by her family, including: three sons, Brian Bergin , Kevin Bergin, and Jack Bergin all of Peabody; five daughters, Holly Page of Plainville, Jill Bergin and Karin Caron, both of Peabody, Nancy Vaccaro of Newton and Susan Bergin of Topsfield; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death besides her husband, by a son, Peter Bergin and a sister, Virginia McMullin. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Friday at 9 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
