Obituary of Miriam (O'Rourke) Sullivan

Miriam (O’Rourke) Sullivan, 68, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of John J. Sullivan. Born in Peabody on February 16, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Hugh J. O’Rourke and Mary A. (Murphy) O’Rourke. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and a lifelong resident of Peabody. Miriam was employed as an electrical mechanical assembler for several North shore companies for many years. She was an avid acrylic painter and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. In addition to her husband of 34 years, she is survived by her daughter, Melissa M. Sullivan of Peabody; two sisters, Eilleen Montbleau and her husband, William of Naples, FL and Janet Murphy and her husband, William of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Hugh J. O’Rourke and sister, Rosemary Nelson. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 21, in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody from 2- 6P.M followed by a service in the funeral home at 6P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Entombment will be privately held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
