Obituary of Kevin Pearse O'Leary

Kevin Pearse O’Leary, 80, of West Peabody, died peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Kathryn L. (Earls) O’Leary with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Kevin was born in Boston, MA the son of the late Daniel J. and Eileen (Murphy) O’Leary and was raised in Dorchester graduating from Cathedral High School. He then entered the US Army serving from 1956 until his reserve discharge in 1962. While in the service he graduated from the Signal School in Fort Gordon, Ga. Upon his return, he graduated from Newbury College in Boston and started working at the Boston Edison Company for 40 years before his retirement as a supervisor in 1999. He later worked at the Home Depot store in Danvers and in Quincy for 7 years and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus of Lynnfield. He enjoyed salt water fishing off Plum Island with his family, music and playing his guitar. He also liked spending time with his pets and backyard birds while gardening around the house. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Peabody, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cheryl O’Leary and Brian and Noelle O’Leary all of Georgetown, a daughter, Kristine O’Neill of Salisbury, a brother, Edmund O’Leary and his wife Pauline of North Attleboro, a sister, Eileen O’Leary of Randolph, his precious grandchildren Kaitlyn, Megan, and Jillian O’Neill, Michael and Erin O’Leary and Declan and Reese O’Leary and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Maureen (O'Leary) Casper. A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Peabody.
