Obituary of Thomas P Bakula

Thomas P. Bakula, 77, of Topsfield and formerly of Salem, MA, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center, Topsfield with his family by his side. He was born in Peabody, MA on June 26, 1942, the son of the late Louis and Marcia (Ogilba) Bakula and was raised in Peabody and later resided in Salem before moving to Topsfield. Thomas was a mechanic at the Sears Automotive Store at the Square One Shopping Center in Saugus, MA for over 30 years prior to a disability retirement 27 years ago. Thomas enjoyed watching sports on television, going to Beano and playing his scratch tickets. He was a member of St. Michael’s Club, and the Peabody Lodge of Elks # 1409. Thomas was the former husband of Phyllis (Turner) Bakula of Peabody, and later the husband of Joanne (Andrews) Bakula who were separated and recently reconciled of Peabody and was pre-deceased by longtime companion the late Patricia Day of Salem. He is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Karen Bakula of Peabody, a sister, Carole A. Bakula of Mechanics Falls, Maine, a sister-in-law, Priscilla Bakula of North Reading and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Peabody Police Officer Richard Bakula. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 10 until 12 Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Service there at 12 Noon.
