Obituary of Irene Ann (DelMonico) Cucchiara

Irene A. (DelMonico) Cucchiara, 88, of Peabody, died peacefully at her residence on August 8, 2019 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Gaetano “Guy” Cucchiara. She was born in Lawrence on September 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Amabile and Concetta (Coletta) DelMonico and had resided in Peabody for the past 60 years. She had worked in the Cafeteria Department in the Peabody School System for 20 years prior to her retirement. She had been active parishioner of St Adelaide Church having belonged to the Couples Club, working with the harvest bazaars and working with the crochet group making blankets. She had been a member of the Mahjong club of Stoneham, the Sons of Italy, the Peabody Senior citizens and enjoyed her winters in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was also a member of the Hillview Country Club Women’s Golf League. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Cucchiara Bongiorno and her husband Joseph Bongiorno and Christine Cucchiara all of Peabody, her precious grandchildren, Daniel Donovan of Peabody, Ashley Lawlor and her husband Daniel Lawlor of Milton, MA and Tara Bongiorno Buoncuore and her husband Matthew Buoncuore and a great granddaughter Joanna Buoncuore all of Peabody, a sister, Marion Swidrak of Methuen and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St. West Peabody. At her request, there are no visiting hours. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park West Peabody.
