Obituary of Susan Carlan

 

 Susan F. (Connors) Carlan, 64, of Seabrook, NH and formerly of Peabody, MA, died on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill with her family by her side following a brief illness.

She was born in   Revere, MA on July 14, 1955, the daughter of retired Deputy Peabody fire chief Frank Connors and the late Ruth Mabel (MacFarlane) Connors and was raised in Peabody graduating from Peabody Vets. Mem. High School in 1973.

She had been a referral specialist for the Pawtucket Medical Associates in Haverhill and Newburyport for 28 years prior to her retirement 2 years ago.    Susan had resided in Wells Maine and later in Seabrook, NH and also wintered in Palm Bay, Florida .

She had a passion for butterflies and enjoyed her role as a grandmother watching and      guiding them to maturity..

She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Carlan of Seabrook, NH, Matthew and Marla Carlan of Walpole, MA and Daniel P. and April Carlan of Jacksonville, FL,  her father Frank  Connors of North Andover MA,  her sister and brother-in-law, Cindy Hanafin and her husband Peter Wells of Situate, MA, her brothers and sister-in-law,  Frank and Carol Connors of Peabody and Michael Connors of  Haverhill, MA, her four cherished grandchildren, Jake, Daniel P. Jr,, Sophia and Isabella Carlan and her 5 step-grandchildren,Kollin, Alex, Jaydon, Chase and Trey, a special person Lisa , and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the former wife of Leonard Carlan and the late Allen Perry and the sister of the late Cheryl Connors Doyle.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Danvers port Yacht Club, 162 Elliott St., Danvers (Rt 62)  from 12:Noon until 3:00 PM .   Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in her memory.   Assisting the family is the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.  For guestbook, please visit www.ccbfuneral.con
