Obituary of Carmen L. Cuzzi
Peabody – Carmen L. Cuzzi 80, beloved husband of the late Barbara (Bonfiglio) Cuzzi, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Winthrop, he was the son of the late Vito and Elizabeth (Giannino) Cuzzi. He was raised in East Boston and received his education in the East Boston school system.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country for four years as a member of the United States Navy.
Mr. Cuzzi had been employed for thirty-two years as a police officer for the City of Peabody until the time of his retirement. Prior to that he had worked for two years as a police officer for the town of Winthrop. Following his retirement, Carmen worked for ten years at Power Fit Gym in Peabody.
A resident of Peabody since 1972, Carmen was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friends who will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving him are three daughters, Lisa Visone and her fiancé, Edwin of Texas, Kim Smyrnios and her husband, Mike of Peabody and Robin McCarthy and her husband, Steven of Peabody, a son, Carmen J. Cuzzi and his wife, Jessica of Peabody, thirteen grandchildren, Paris and Paige Visone, Carl and Dior Serra, Steven, Ryan and Madison McCarthy, Cole, Cam and Payton Cuzzi, Kenny D’Agostino, Casey and Christian Cummings, two sisters, Sandra Aiello of Saugus and Mary Romano of Millbury, two brothers, Paul Cuzzi and his wife, Ginette of Revere and Leo Cuzzi of Winthrop, two sisters-in-law, Deborah D’Agostino and her husband, Kenny of Peabody and Donna Cuzzi of Rindge, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Kenneth Cuzzi, step-son of the late Mary Cuzzi, son-in-law of the late Geraldine Bonfiglio and brother of the late Guido Cuzzi.
His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, August 28 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Visiting hours on Monday, August 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 97075, Washington, DC 20090.
