Obituary of Michael N. Caprio

Michael N. Caprio, 79, of Saugus and formerly of Peabody and East Boston, died Friday afternoon at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Rose (Potenza) Caprio. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Philomenia (Ficcadio) Caprio. He was raised and educated in East Boston and attended East Boston High School. He has spent the last 8 years living in Saugus and prior to that, he lived in Peabody for 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II, who served with the United States Navy. After the war, he worked as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Office in East Boston for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling throughout the state to play a round of golf, and he also enjoyed bowling and playing Keno. He also was a photographer who had an extensive collection of photographs. Mr. Caprio is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Ann Marie Caprio of Pelham, NH, two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Quinlan of Newburyport and Debra and Larry Morina of Boynton Beach, Fla; and is also survived by five grandchildren, Aaron, Shaun and Gretchen Quinlan, Kelly Kaufman and Brittany Caprio and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lucy Johnson. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. If friends should desire, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
