Obituary of Peter Katsulas

Peter Katsulas, 93, of Danvers, MA died late Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the Beverly Hospital after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of Ann (Kiladis) Katsulas with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. He was born in Peabody, MA on February 4, 1926, the son of the late Panagiotis and Mary (Polychronopoulos) Katsulas and was raised there before entering the US Navy in 1944.

Peter served overseas during WW II in the Marshall Islands and stayed in the Navy Reserves for 21 years before his discharge as a Commander in 1971.  He was a member of the Naval Patriot Squadron at the South Weymouth Naval Base. Using his GI Bill, he graduated from Boston University with a degree in Business and completed a year of graduate studies in engineering at Northeastern

. Peter had been employed with Premier Industrial Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio for fifteen years, and then worked for KAR Products Company for 25 years before retiring as vice president of Sales. He lived in North Andover, MA for fourteen years and has resided in Danvers, MA for the past 24 years. Peter enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid sports fan. Peter and Ann enjoyed traveling, and returned to Greece seven times, and also traveled to Europe and the Caribbean Islands.

He was heavily involved in St. Vasilios Church, serving on the Church Council, AHEPA, and the Men’s Club for many year.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of Danvers, a son John Katsulas of Danvers, a daughter, Mary Ann and a son-in-law, Jay Tsoutsouras of Rowley, MA, and two grandchildren, Christopher Tsoutsouras of Beverly and Alyssa Tsoutsouras of Ipswich and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, George and Florence Katsulas and Anne Primpas.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by Services in ST. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM.
