Obituary of Dorothea Claire Polito

Dorothea Claire (Hunt) Polito, 92, died August 12, 2019 at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly. She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent D. Polito and Edmond W. Bergeron.

Born in Lynn, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Dion) Hunt. She was raised and educated in Lynn, having lived in Salem and Peabody for over 70 years, while in later years, wintering in Bradenton, Florida.

Dorothea had been a switchboard operator for AT&T in Salem as well as a hair stylist in her later years.

Dorothea is survived by four children, five grandchildren, a sister and brother. Dorothea was predeceased by a son.

On Monday September 9, 2019, visiting will be at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass following at Noon at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn Street, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Burial will be in Salem at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
