Mildred Millie (Byra) Liston
PEABODY Mildred Millie (Byra) Liston, 89, beloved wife of the late Frank Liston, died Saturday at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kobylarz) Byra. She lived there in her youth, then moved to Peabody where she lived for over 70 years.
Mrs. Liston worked at the Danvers Bleachery, then CBS Hytron, and was employed by the City of Peabody in the School Department, and worked in the Cafeteria at the Seeglitz Peabody High School.
Mrs. Liston enjoyed knitting, crochet work, sewing, cooking and was noted for her fudge among other things, and especially loved to host gatherings and be with family and friends, mostly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, James & Alice Liston of Topsfield; three grandchildren, James Liston and John & Michelle Liston both of Danvers, and Jayne & Ed Bogart of Topsfield; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Liston and John JP Liston of Danvers; two step-great-grandchildren, Gregory and Zachary Smith of Danvers; two sisters, Anna Caples of Topsfield and Josephine Wilkins of AZ, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harrison & Keni Witham of Topsfield, and several nieces and nephews.
. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at
11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
