Obituary of Armand Paul LeBlanc

 

Armand P. LeBlanc, 90, of Peabody, died peacefully at his home on August 28, 2019. He was the devoted husband of Paula H. (Prendible) LeBlanc.

Armand was a direct descendant of Daniel LeBlanc, one of the first settlers of L’Acadie, the first French colony in what is now Nova Scotia, Canada.

Born in Lynn, MA on July 16, 1929 to Joseph and Agnes (Landry) LeBlanc, Armand was brought back to N ova Scotia upon his mother’s death during childbirth, to be raised by his now widowed father and grandparents.

Armand returned to the US as a young adult and settled in Peabody after serving 3 years in the US army during the Korean War. He began his career as a Certified Machinist, working for Canon Electric in Salem, Transitron in East Boston, and ultimately, the aerospace division of General Electric in Wilmington, which was later sold to Ametec.

Armand was married to Paula Prendible in 1954 and had 5 children. The couple purchased their first home in Peabody in 1959 where Armand passed away 60 years later.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, his 5 children; David M. and his wife Kathleen LeBlanc of Las Vegas, NV,Robin J. LeBlanc of Boston, Nanette D. LeBlanc of Beverly, Marc LeBlanc of New Jersey, and Paul A. and his wife Katherine “Kat” LeBlanc of New York City, his siblings; Hubert and his wife Sue of Ontario, Canada, Elaine and her husband Elie Thimot, Eloise and her husband Richard Mailman, and Michael and his wife Alvina LeBlanc, all of Nova Scotia, Canada, his grandchildren; Noelle Susanne LeBlanc of New Jersey, and Daniel Koven and his partner Trish of Huntington Beach, CA, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September, 21st, from 11:30 am – 12:30 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 PM, at Conway, Cahill-Broduer Funeral Home, at 82 Lynn St., in Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Care Dimensions, a non-profit hospice and care facility, located at 75 Sylvan St., Suite 102-B, Danvers, MA 01923.
