Obituary of Daniel Silva Muise

Daniel Silva Muise, 79, of Peabody, died peacefully at home on June 10.  Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late George and Sarah A (Silva) Muise. 

Daniel was a life-long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1956.  Following high school, he enlisted with the United States Navy and served for four years until his honorable discharge in 1964.

Daniel was a mechanic for the Polaroid corporation in both Natick and Waltham and upon retiring from Polaroid, he worked additional years as a janitor for the Hamilton Wenham school district and Town Paint in Beverly.

He was very active in the community and did charity work for both St. Adelaide’s Church and St. John’s Church in Peabody.  He also volunteered at the Haven from Hunger and always contributed to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Smile Train, and many others charities in which he truly loved and cared about.

Daniel was a life-long member of both Salem Willows Yacht Club and Bass Haven Yacht Club.  He held every chair position at both clubs from Chairman of Committee to Commodore.  He was also the last permanent member of the Board of Governors at Salem Willows Yacht Club.  Mr. Muise was also a longtime member of the Massachusetts Boating and Yacht Club Association.

He is survived by his sister, Frances A. (Muise) McLaughlin of Peabody, and by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and by many dear friends on the North Shore.  He was predeceased by his siblings, John Perry, Florence (Perry) Kipouras, Sarafine Perry, Daniel Perry, Alice (Muise) Kardenetz, George Raymond Muise, and Larry Muise.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 CHURCH STREET, DOWNTOWN location followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Burial will in the Veterans Section at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org or to Smile Train at www.smiletrain.org
