Obituary of Thomas Peter Routses

    Thomas P. Routses, 98, of  Effingham, NH and formerly of  Peabody MA,  died peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Catherine (Normandeau) Routses who died in 1991.

Thomas was born in Peabody, MA on August 29, 1921, the son of the late Peter and Staveroula (Hagneos) Routses and was raised and educated there graduating from Peabody High School in 1940.

He had been in the restaurant industry for nearly 50 years, and had operated with his late brother George Routses the Wardhurst restaurants in Peabody prior to his retirement  27 years ago.

Tom  moved to  Ft. Pierce, Florida after his retirement  and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He had been a member of the Jordan Lodge of Masons, A.F. & A.M. of  Peabody . He moved  to Effingham, NH four years ago, and was  awarded the Boston Post cane as he was the oldest resident in town.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law,   Susan and Thomas Hart of Effingham, NH, a granddaughter, Amanda Bramante and her husband Victor and 2 great grandchildren, Halley and Madilyn Bramante all of Port St. Lucie, Florida,  a nephew  Peter Routses and his wife Sue of Danvers.  He was the brother of the late George Routses.
