Obituary of Sandra M. (Cicchetti) Bradley
Sandra M. (Cicchetti) Bradley, 63, died August 8, 2006 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Mrs. Bradley was born in Beverly, Massachusetts on August 6, 1943. She attended parochial schools in Beverly, graduating from St. Mary’s High in 1961. Shortly after, she met Paul A. Bradley while working at J.J. Newbury’s department store in Peabody; the couple married at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly on September 13, 1964, and have resided in Peabody ever since.
Mrs. Bradley loved children and once commented that her only ambition was to be married and to raise a family, ideally two boys and two girls. She went on to say that she was very happy that she had gotten exactly what she wanted. Indeed, she spent most of her time from the mid 1960’s through the 1970’s tirelessly raising her four children, two sons and two daughters. In 1980, with all her children in school, she took a full-time retail position at the Cook Inn at the North Shore Mall, a job she held for 8 years; subsequently, she worked for five years as a bank teller at the Bank of New England in West Peabody. She spent the last 12 years of her life joyfully caring for her five grandchildren, a period most fittingly described as her second motherhood.
Mrs. Bradley will be dearly missed by her husband Paul A. Bradley of Peabody, her son Paul A., Jr. and his wife Shelley (Austin) Bradley of Salem, her son Daniel P. Bradley and his wife Kristen (McClenning) Bradley of Ashburnham, her daughter, Christine M. (Bradley) Harlow and her husband James of Amesbury, and her daughter Renee J. Bradley of Peabody. She will be dearly missed by her sister Mary (Cicchetti) Donaruma and her husband William of Branford, Connecticut; her sister Cathleen (Cicchetti) O’Neil and her husband Bradford of Billerica, Massachusetts, and her brother Donald Cicchetti of San Diego, California, as well as many relatives and friends. She will be especially missed by her five grandchildren, to whom she gave so much of her time and selfless attention; Rachel and Meghann Bradley of Salem, Autumn Bradley of Ashburnham, and Deanna and Jake Harlow of Amesbury.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Beverly, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma 01923.
