Obituary of Clara Helen (D'Amato) LeBlanc
Clara H. (D’Amato) Vasiles LeBlanc, 75, beloved wife of the late Gerard Le Blanc and the late William C. Vasiles, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
Born in Lynn on July 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Julia (Federico) D’Amato. She lived in Lynn for many years, and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1949.
Besides enjoying her role, and taking great pride as a mother and nurturing family values where all were welcome, she worked for many years with GTE Sylvania in Danvers, and for many years as a Supervisor in the Document Center with Eaton Corporation of Beverly from where she retired in 1999.
Mrs. Le Blanc was very active in the congregation at the Tabernacle Church in Salem, where she was active in many of their outreach activities. She was always an active volunteer with the church and in the community including her 50th Class Re-Union Committee, cooking, holding an open invitation to friends and family to her home where she was known as “Ma to all.”
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, and leaves her legacy of family including: a daughter Nancy (Vasiles) Carson of Peabody; two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher & Deanne Vasiles of Moyock, NC and William R. & Annmarie Vasiles of Peabody, and a step-daughter, Kathy & Jeff Sooy of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Megan Vasiles and Daniel Vasiles, both of NC, Christopher Le Blanc of Danvers, Meredith Sooy and Matthew Sooy, both of Shrewsbury; a brother, Frank D’Amato of Monterray, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth & Paul Mowder of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. Vasiles, second husband Gerard Le Blanc, a son-in-law Richard Carson besides her parents.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11:30 A.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114-2792.
