Obituary of Stephen Edward McKenna

Stephen Edward McKenna, 54, died unexpectedly in a car accident in Iowa while moving back to Peabody, MA from Twin Falls, ID, his home for the last ten years.

Born in Malden, MA on March 24, 1965, he was the son of Mary E. (Pesce) McKenna of Peabody and Robert G. McKenna Sr. and his partner Joan Dunn of Hudson, NH.  He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School, class of 1983 where he   played varsity football.

Upon graduating from high school, Stephen enlisted with the United States Navy and served for four years sailing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, before his honorable discharge.  He then attended North Shore Community College and The College of Southern Idaho.

While living in Massachusetts he worked at the Boston Stock Exchange and then when he moved to Olympia, WA, he did various jobs in security.

Stephen was an avid reader of popular fiction books and loved playing his video games.

Stephen was a kind and loving man who always had a smile on his face. He will be dearly missed.

Besides his loving mother and father, he is survived by his daughter Stephanie and her husband David Bouck and their son Levi, all of Arizona, his siblings, Robert G. McKenna Jr. and his wife Lisa of New Bedford, Michael C. McKenna and his wife Kathy of Holliston, Richard J. McKenna and his wife Linda of Woburn, and Patricia A. Walz of Peabody, his nieces and nephews, Billy, Patrick and his wife Cassandra, Katie, Joyce, Maryalice, Kelly, Michael, Tyler and Jake and especially his grand-niece Riley.

Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. His Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invite to attend.
