Obituary of Celia Nalesnik

Celia (Drivas) Nalesnik 90, beloved wife of the late Henry Nalesnik, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 surrounded by her family at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody.

Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Irene (Lazarakis) Drivas. She received her education in the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School.

As a young woman, Celia assisted with her husband’s business, Nalesnik Machine. Later in life, she worked as a bus monitor for the City of Peabody where she enjoyed working with the school children.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, Celia had a great love for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was full of life and laughter and was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Mark Nalesnik and his wife, Michelle of Peabody, two grandsons, Mark Henry Nalesnik and Nicholas Nalesnik and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Eleanor Kalavretinos, Mary Hasomeris and Arthur Drivas.

Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Celia’s memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
