Thomas Caron

Obituary of Thomas J Caron

Thomas J. Caron, 49, of Peabody passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday October 18, 2019. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Norman A. and Alice A. (Santorella) Caron. He was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, class of 1988.

Tom was a gifted handy man and worked as a mechanic at Meineke Car Care Center. He used those skills selflessly to solve problems for family and friends alike. He was also a devoted and loving caretaker to his mother Alice for many years up until her passing. Tom had a love for cats and was dedicated to his cat of almost twenty years named Lady.

Whether he was taking care of his mother or asking you about yours, Tom always put others ahead of himself. He went out of his way to make newcomers feel welcome or to help out a friend in need.

Tom was blessed with limitless creativity which he applied to his many hobbies. He was an avid music fan and self-taught guitarist. He wrote music for and performed in the bands Wingnut and Splat the Freeway Cat. He had a love for movies and television that he channeled into numerous personal projects building homemade replicas of props from some of his favorite films. He delighted family members and friends with his creations throughout his life. He possessed an inquisitive mind and loved discussing history and debating politics as much as he enjoyed gazing at the stars through his telescope.

Tom is survived by his sister Diana Kaye and her husband Alan, his brothers Norman B. Caron and Troy T. Caron, and his sister Aliceann Caron. He is also survived by his adoring nephews Matthew and Scott Kaye and Timothy and Stephen Cohen, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was a loving son, brother and uncle and had a profound impact on those who were close to him. His comedic wit and beautiful soul will be forever missed and never forgotten.
