Obituary of Marie G. Laro
Marie G. Laro, 90, of Peabody, passed away Saturday evening at the Essex Park Rehabilitation Center in Beverly, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Laro.
Marie was born in Boston, MA. On November 9, 1928, daughter of the late Vincent and Serena (Bertuccio) Parente. She grew up in the west end of Boston, before moving to Salem at the age of 15. She was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1946.
Marie had worked as an assembler for Hotwatt in Danvers, for 19 years, prior to retiring in 1998. In her spare time, she enjoyed polka dancing and even traveled with her son’s polka band, she also enjoyed cooking, but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Laro & his wife Stacey of Peabody, Steven Laro and his wife Carol of Concord, NH; a brother, Vincent Parente of Peabody; her grandchildren, Taylor, Nicolas, Serena, Joseph Laro Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, from 6-8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral service be held on Saturday, November 9, in the funeral home at 10A.M. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hopsital, 501 Memphis, TN 38105 and Multiple Sclerosis Society 101 A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
