Obituary of Kathleen M. (Carr) Smith

Kathleen "Kathy" M. (Carr) Smith, 69, died Saturday evening at her home surrounded by her children while fighting a courageous battle against illness. She was the wife of the late Atherton E. Smith. Born March 28, 1933 she was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Cronin) Carr. She was raised in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She has resided in Peabody for the past 27 years. Mrs. Smith had worked for many years with Webb, Childes & McDonald Insurance Co. in Peabody as an insurance agent. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Peabody. Kathy touched the lives of many people through her adventures in life. She brought life and laughter to all that knew her. There is now a hole that can never be filled. She will be missed. She is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law; Jack and Debbie Rasmussen of Alaska, Billy and Tracy Rasmussen of Windsor Lockes, CT., Erik and Catherine Rasmussen of Kingston, NH, Edward Rasmussen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 3 daughters and sons-in-law; Mary and Bob Feuer of Stockbridge, MA, Beth Hull of Alford, MA and Jean and Scott Adams of Homer, Alaska; 2 brothers; Father William Carr of Fairfield, MA and Paul Carr of West Roxbury, MA; 13 grandchildren; Jennifer, Kateina & Elizabeth Rasmussen of Wassila, Alaska, Kate and Max Feuer of Stockbridge, MA; Tara and Will Rasmussen of Windsor Lockes, CT; John and Alden Hull of Alford, MA; Jonathan and Justin Adams of Homer, Alaska; Ellie and Maggie Rasmussen of Kingston, NH. She was the sister of the late John Carr. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. Peabody of the Conway , Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
