Obituary of Richard T. Burke

Peabody – Richard T. Burke, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Richard was born on February 7, 1930 and grew up in Peabody where he lived for his entire life.

He graduated from Peabody High School in 1948. His technical training occurred at the Boston School for Mechanical Dentistry.

He served in the United States Navy on the USS Irex submarine during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.

He was the loving husband and is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vera Palmachuk Burke.

He was the loving father of Katherine Burke of New York, NY and the late Mark Burke and also two granddaughters, Anastasia Alt of New York, NY and Caroline Burke of Salem, MA as well as his son in law Edward Alt and daughter in law Jane Burke.

His funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Haven for Hunger, 71 Wallis Street, Peabody, MA, or at www.citizensinn.org.
