Obituary of Joseph P. DiBlasi

    Joseph P. DiBlasi, 89, of Peabody, passed away at his residence Tuesday evening, following a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Gambale) DiBlasi.

     Joseph was born in Boston, on September 23, 1930, son of the late Carmelo and Katherine (Merenda) DiBlasi. He was raised and educated there, before going on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. DiBlasi was an active parishioner of St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and was a member of the Fish and Game Club of Danvers, and also the Chelsea Yacht Club. He was also an active member of the Peabody Senior Center. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

      Devoted father of Marlene Bronk of Peabody, Karen Fossett and her husband Ed Roach of Peabody and the late John J. DiBlasi and his wife Debbie of Somerville. Loving grandfather of George Travis, Tammy Lewis, Melissa Brown, Robbie Fossett and his wife Nicole, Amy DeCoste and Amanda DiBlasi as well as 13 great-grandchildren. The loving brother of Joanne Giachinta of Revere, Charles DiBlasi of Revere, Nancy Small of Melrose, Rosemary Maroney of Lynn and the late Mildred Plati of Stoneham, and many nieces and nephews.

       A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, from 9:30-10:30A.M., at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral mass will follow at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to North Shore Elder Services, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 200, Danvers, MA 01923 and All Care Hospice, 210 Market Street Lynn, MA 01901.
