Obituary of Edward Albano
Edward Albano, 85, of Salem, died peacefully early Monday morning surrounded by his loving family following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Ardini) Albano with whom he shared over 61 years of marriage.
Born in Brighton, he was the son of the late Umberto and Florence (Alpert) Albano. He was raised and educated in Revere and has lived in Salem for the past 28 years.
Edward was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. Upon his discharge from the army, Edward began a 50-year career as a TV repairman working independently and for various companies over those years before he finally retired.
Edward enjoyed watching all of Boston’s professional sports teams and he especially enjoyed watching golf on TV. His favorite endeavor though was spending time with family and friends, either at cookouts or holiday gatherings, he enjoyed sharing in all of their activities.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Michael and Andrea Albano of Danvers, and Robert and Tammy Albano of Beverly, his two daughters, Kristen Albano and Peter Soucy of Salem, and Karyn Albano and Joe Cipoletta of Salem, his siblings, Jason Albano, Laraine DePaulo, and Rochelle Arigo, and is also survived by his seven loving grandchildren, Katie, Ashley, Brandon, Tyler, Rachel, Michael, and Taylor and by his six great children and many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Pancreatic Cancer Research at www.cancer.org
