Obituary of Richard V. Carlson
Richard V Carlson, 66, of Peabody and formerly of Cambridge and Waltham, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon at his home.
Born in New York, he was the son of the late George and Yvonne “Bonnie” (Laro) Carlson. He was raised and educated in Waltham, later lived in Cambridge and has spent the last 18 months living in Peabody.
Richard was employed with Harvard University for many years as a security guard.
Richard enjoyed playing basketball, skiing, and dancing and enjoyed watching all of Boston’s professional sports teams as well. His favorite endeavor though, was spending time with his family and sharing in all of their activities. He will be dearly missed by all.
Richard is survived by his daughter Laura Carlson, his brother, George F. Carlson, his aunt, Florence Manning of Peabody and the entire Manning family, and by his childhood friend Thomas Rickman of Waltham.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 until 11:30 Am at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
