Anthony Ventresca

Obituary of Anthony R. Ventresca

Anthony R. Ventresca, Army Specialist, 30, of Peabody, passed away suddenly November 25, 2019, after his life was tragically taken in Largo, Florida.

Anthony was born on November 27, 1988, in Salem, MA, the only son of Julieann (Rando) Ventresca of Peabody, MA and David W. Ventresca of Spring Hill, FL.  Anthony was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, class of 2006.

Shortly after graduation, Anthony enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard, Buzzards Bay, MA and completed basic training at the U.S. Army Training Center, Fort Sill, Lawton, OK.  In February, 2010 his unit, The 379th Engineers, was deployed to Afghanistan for 18 months.

Anthony loved life and lived it his way.  He fought long and hard to overcome his demons with positive results.  At the time of his death he was happy, healthy and living life to the fullest.   He loved his family, his friends, and his country.  He often portrayed a rigid exterior, but had a loyal, kind and caring heart.

Anthony possessed a passion for automobiles of any kind and could identify a vehicle by the age of five - new, foreign, domestic or classic.  As an adult he could repair or restore them all and was enrolled in college majoring in automotive engineering.  He was an avid Bruins fan.  He had an inept love for animals, nature, peaceful surroundings, and helping those who needed it.  He loved spending time with best friends and “always, no matter what, had their back…”

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his sisters, Melissa N. Rougier and her husband Matthew of Peabody, and Elizabeth A. Swift of Billerica; two nieces, Elyse E. Rougier and Madelyn M. Rougier, and two nephews, James K. Swift, Jr., and William D. Swift; and many aunts, uncles, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home,82 Lynn St. from 10 – 11:45A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA at 12:00 noon. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, MA.

May we all never forget freedom isn’t free - it is derived from brave souls who serve their country with pride whenever called upon.  Always remember to thank a veteran.
