Obituary of Barbara M Noyes
Barbara (Devaney) Noyes, 94, of Peabody born on May 23, 1925, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, John and Elizabeth (Young) Devaney, Barbara was the loving wife to Raymond B. Noyes. Barbara and Raymond raised their six children in Peabody.
Barbara attended the Peabody School system, graduating high school in 1942. She dedicated many years to raising her family and then worked at Superior Court in Salem for over 20 years. Barbara was very involved in state and local politics. She was also a long-time member of the Peabody Emblem Club and the Massachusetts State Association of Emblem Clubs, a non-profit women’s business organization raising funds for organizations and people in need. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe with friends and family. Barbara and her husband enjoyed flying and she earned her pilot’s license. She spent many happy years in Sarasota Florida.
Barbara leaves two sisters, Shirley Pearson and Margaret Brewer both of Peabody. Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Robin Noyes Lyons and her son, Robert E. Noyes. In addition, her brothers, Jack Devaney, Everett Devaney and her sister, Ruth Devaney Sutherland.
Barbara leaves her daughter Janice Iwanylo and her husband Gerald of Henderson, Nevada; two sons, Raymond B. Noyes, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Lake Winnipesauke, New Hampshire and Holmes Beach Florida; Richard Noyes and his wife Janice of Wilmington, North Carolina; and her daughter Randi Jean Holland of Danvers. In addition to her children, Barbara leaves seventeen grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren. Barbara loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Her funeral will begin Saturday at 8:00 am at the Funeral Home, followed by the Mass at 9:00 am at St Ann’s Church at 140 Lynn Street, Peabody, all are invited. The mass will be followed by the Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Barbara’s memory.
