Obituary of Maureen D. Berkowitz
Maureen D. Berkowitz, 59, of Peabody, passed away suddenly at her residence on Thursday, December 5.
Maureen was born in Salem, MA, on December 15, 1959, daughter of the late Paul Dullea and Helen (Doherty) Dullea. She was raised and educated there, before going on to attend Bentley University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree, and then receiving her Master’s Degree from Salem State College.
Maureen worked as a Special Education teacher at St. Coletta’s Day School in Braintree.
She is survived by her children Brian Berkowitz of NH, James Berkowitz of N. Reading, and Casey Berkowitz of N. Reading; her mother and step-father, Helen Dullea and William Magner; her siblings, Paul Dullea & his wife Catherine of Byfield, Joseph Dullea & his wife Lynn of Wilmington, Mary and Michael Dewar of Norwood, and Patricia & Enrique Jurado of Chino, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John W. Dullea.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 12 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut. St. Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St. Peabody, MA 01960.
