Obituary of Robert M Barrett

Robert M Barrett, 83, of Lynnfield, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday December 10 following a two-year illness. He was the devoted husband of Maureen J. (Doherty) Barrett with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Albert and Lillian (Ross) Barrett. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1953. He later attended Boston College. Robert was employed with the city of Lynn for over 40 years as a housing inspector before retiring years ago. He enjoyed talking politics, swimming, watching football and he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family in their home in North Conway, NH. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Alison Prescott of Amesbury and Michelle and her husband Tom Fordham of Coventry, RI and is also survived by his sister Geraldine Pearson of Danvers and his special little granddaughter, Grace. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul, Charles, Albert, Danny, and John Barrett. Following cremation, his Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saturday December 28, at 11:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
