Obituary of Mark W. Callahan

Beverly – Mark W. Callahan 61, beloved husband of Diana L. (Trainor) Callahan, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Augustus J. and Helen (Bagnell) Callahan. He received his education in the Beverly school system and attended Beverly High School. Mark had been employed for many years by the Town of Ipswich school system and prior to that he had worked many years at the Landmark School in Beverly Farms and Manchester by the Sea. A lifelong resident of Beverly, he was a member of the Franco-American Club in Beverly. Affectionately known as “Beepy” by his grandsons, Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife with whom he shared thirty-five years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Valerie A. (Callahan) Drinan and her husband, Michael of Haverhill and Kimberly M. Callahan and her companion, Dan Ruiz of Haverhill, two grandsons, Matthew J. and Zachary Mark Drinan of Haverhill and many cousins. He will be missed by his beloved cat Ginger, “Baby Girl,” who brought him lots of joy and comfort. Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 2 to 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
