Obituary of Florence A. Piergrossi

Florence A. (Zajdel) Piergrossi, 84, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of John N. Piergrossi for 65 years. Born on June 28, 1935 in New Britan, CT, Florence was the daughter of Michael and Antonina Zajdel. She and her husband resided in Old Saybrook before moving to Manchester by the Sea, where they lived for 40 years. They have lived in Peabody for the last 5 years. Florence was a Human Resources Manager at Varian Electronics in Beverly for 20 years prior to her retirement. She had a very active life and enjoyed oil painting, tennis, and spending time by the ocean. John and Florence loved traveling to Europe and spending winters in Naples, Florida. The two were enthusiastic members of the Beverly YMCA for many years. She was also a devout Catholic and a Eucharistic Minister at the Brooksby Village Chapel. Florence is survived by her husband, John, of Peabody; her three children, Mark Piergrossi and his wife Kathleen of Goffstown, NH, Beth Prawdzik and her husband Dan of Andover, MA, and Todd Piergrossi and his wife Kristina of Pasadena, MD; her brother, Teddy Zajdel, and his wife Patricia of New Britain, CT. Florence loved family time with her 5 grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel, and Maxwell Prawdzik, Jack Piergrossi, and Melissa Boutchia. She also cherished her 4 great grandchildren, David, Dylan, Madyson and Autumn Boutchia, born to Melissa and her husband David Boutchia. Florence had many loving nieces, nephews, and friends as well. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Brooksby Village Chapel, 100 Brooksby Village Drive in Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
