Obituary of Carol Timmons

Carol (Melanson)Timmons, 82, of Peabody, MA, died peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2019 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Cornelius A. Timmons. She was born in Lynn MA of September 25, 1937, the daughter of the Chester and Louise (Chapman) Melanson and was raised there and later lived in Lynnfield before moving to Peabody 20 years ago. Carol had been a secretary at the American Mutual Insurance Co, Wakefield for 20 years and later worked at the Home Depot Store in Danvers for seven years prior to her retirement She had been an ardent fan of Elvis Presley and was president of the New England fan club. She also had a large collection of dolls and enjoyed her animals, especially her cats. She is survived by her two sons, Russell and his wife Nancy Timmons, a captain with the Somersworth Police Dept of Somersworth, NH and Timothy Timmons , a retired Danvers police officer of Lynnfield, MA, her sister Beverly Sullivan/ Madden of Lowell, four grandchildren, Paul Timmons of Portsmouth, NH, Daniel Timmons of Shapleigh, ME, Jennifer Timmons of Somersworth, NH and Tyla Timmons of Exeter, NH, three great grandchildren, Jaiden, Ryker, and Russell James “RJ” Timmons and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 9 am to 10 am with Services there at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, Lynnfield. Expressions of sympathy may be made to MA Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), 350 So. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02030 in her memory.
