Obituary of Mary Cote

Mary (O’Neill) Cote, 98, of Salem died peacefully at her residence on Monday, January 20, 2020. She was the wife of the late Edward E. Cote who died in 2012. Mary was born in Peabody, MA on June 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Ellen T. (O’Brien) O’Neill and had was a graduate of Salem High School in 1939 and resided in Salem most of her life. She had been a secretary at the General Electric Co., in Lynn for 42 years prior to her retirement in 1987. Mary enjoyed travelling with her dear friend Margaret Hogan to Ireland and other parts of Europe as well as the United States. She had a large collection of Hummel s that she gathered over the years. She is survived by her nieces, her special caregiver, Janice Hallinan and her husband Thomas of Peabody and Nancy Perry and her husband Michael of Amesbury and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas O’Neill and Francis O’Neill and the aunt of the late Raymond Lussier. A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Service there at 11:00 AM.
