Obituary of George M. Flammia

George M. Flammia, 80, of Peabody and formerly Saugus, died early Thursday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Maureen (Barry) Flammia. George was born in Boston, MA, on August 24, 1939, son of Italian immigrants, Antonio and Lucia (Pagliorulo) Flammia. He had served as a Specialist in the United States Army from 1959 – 1965. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a printer for Financial Publishing in Boston. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, loved reading, enjoyed traveling to Florida with his wife, Maureen, but most importantly being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters, Joan Flammia, of Peabody, Denise Flammia of Peabody; his grandchildren, Brandon Olsen, Valerie Folan, and Mathew Folan; his brothers, Anthony and Louis Flammia. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rico, Michael, and Joseph Flammia, Mary Delory, and Frances Flammia. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 26, from 4-8P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Monday, January 27, at 9A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10A.M. Burial services will be private.
