Obituary of Bernard A Mulhall

Bernard “Bernie” Mulhall, 85, of Middleton, died Sunday at Salem Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen (Hoyt) Mulhall with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late William and Norma (Clayton) Rousseau. He was raised in Providence and moved to the North Shore area in the early 1960’s where he raised his family. He enjoyed living in Middleton for the past 27 years. Bernie received his certificate in Banking from Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University and began a long career as an executive in both the banking and healthcare industry. He first started at Essex Bank and then continued his career with Atlantic Care before he retired. Upon his retirement, he worked for Nufed Mortgage as a consultant for many years before fully retiring. Bernie was on the board of Bomco Inc and then served as Chairman of the Board up to a few months ago. Bernie enjoyed boating, and playing golf. He and Kathleen were former members of the Ferncroft Country Club. Besides his loving wife Kathleen, Bernie is survived by his three sons, Steven, William, and Richard (Sharon) Mulhall, all of CA and by his two daughters, Brenda Ciampa (Richard) and Lisa Thouas (Nick), all of CA, his beloved eleven grandchildren; Heather, Stephanie, Richard Jr, Megan, Eve, Sam, Jacob, Adam, William, and Matthew and by his two great grandchildren; Daisy and Jonathan, and is also survived by his brother , Richard (Nancy) Rousseau of Wakefield, RI and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Bernard Mulhall and his granddaughter, Crystal Nicole Eckheart. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, 1/30/2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and Friday, 1/31/2020 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Parkinson Headquarters, 135 Parkinson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10305.
