Obituary of Marie R. Marchese

Marie R. Marchese, 81, a Peabody resident for over 50 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon surrounded by her family, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Marchese. Marie was born in Lynn, MA, on September 12, 1938, daughter of the late Neil and Rose (Foglietta) Beaton. She was raised and educated in Lynn, attending St. Mary’s school, from Elementary up until High School. Prior to her retirement, owned her own bridal shop in Lynnfield, then going on to work as a clerk for the Registry of Deeds in Salem. She was very devoted to her faith, being an active parishioner at St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody. Most importantly, she loved being surrounded by her loving family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Danny Marchese & his wife Barbara of Peabody, Donna Llukan & her husband Al of FL, Deborah Connolly & her husband Michael of Danvers, Darlene Languriand & her husband Brian of NH; her grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda & Scott Jolly, Alex Llukan, Andy & Melanie Llukan, Michael Eng, Derek & Stephanie Llukan, Danny Marchese, Jr. & Jessica, Ashley & Matt Canavan, Justin & Elyse Languirand, Cassandra Eng; 8 great-grandchildren; 9 siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother William Beaton. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, from 4-8 P.M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20, from the funeral home at 9:30A.M., followed by a funeral mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St.., Peabody, at 10:30A.M. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
