Obituary of Giacomo Salerno

Lynn – Giacomo Salerno 77, beloved husband of Bianca (Adelfio-Noto) Salerno, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Marsala, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Onofrio and Rosa (Indelicato) Salerno. He moved to Brazil in 1958 where he resided before emigrating to the United States in 1962, settling in Malden. Mr. Salerno had been employed for forty-one years by Brodie Inc. in Lawrence until the time of his retirement. A resident of Lynn for the past thirty-five years, Giacomo enjoyed spending his retirement with family and friends. He faithfully met with his friends once a month which he affectionately called “The Breakfast Club.” He enjoyed traveling on the weekends, cooking and being in nature. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friends who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife with whom he shared thirty years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie Salerno-Titus and her husband, Brian of Topsfield, two sons, John Salerno and his wife, Diane of Plaistow, NH and Sebastian Noto and his wife, Laura of Gloucester, six grandchildren, Trent Titus, Zachary Titus, Chad Noto, Olivia Noto, Julian Noto and Patrick Tucker, two great grandchildren, Nolan and Oliver Tucker, a sister, Rosa Ingianni and her husband, Vito of Saugus, two brothers, Giovanni Salerno and his wife, Edelgart of Lynn and Ernesto Salerno and his wife, Rosetta of Malden and many nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield, Monday, February 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
