Obituary of Charles D. Gamby

Charles D. Gamby ROCHESTER, NH—Charles D. Gamby, 80, beloved husband of Lorraine (Fumicello) Gamby of Rochester, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday afternoon. Born in Port Henry, NY, he was the son of the late William and Emma (Nouel) Gamby. He lived in Everett as a young boy where he lived many years. He lived in Malden, then 17 years in Saugus until his retirement. He moved to California for a short time, then moved back to New England, living in Rochester, NH for the last 15 years. Mr. Gamby worked as a Lab Technician with Amstar Sugar Refinery for 20 years in Charlestown. He enjoyed boating and fishing, bowling, billiards, video games and spending time with his family. He is survived by: his wife, Lorraine (Fumicello) Gamby of Rochester, NH, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage; one son, David Gamby of Quincy; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robin & Scott Schevis of Peabody and Lynne Gamby of Berwick, ME; three grandchildren, Kristyn Schevis and Stephen Schevis, and Kayla Gamby; two brothers, Richard Gamby of Chelsea and John Gamby of Malden; one sister, Dorothy Martin of Saugus, and he leaves many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester Gamby and Frederick Gamby. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
