Obituary of Jessie B. Costello

Jessie Burnett Costello, 93. of Peabody, died peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading with her family by her side. She was born In Peabody on July 14, 1926, the daughter of the late William J. and Jessie B. (Fyfe) Costello and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of St. John’s Girls High School, Peabody, received her bachelor’s degree at Emmanuel College and her master’s degree in education at Boston College. She had been a guidance counselor with the Peabody School system at the Peabody Vets. Memorial High School for several years prior to her retirement. Jessie was a devoted parishioner at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody. She was a beloved Aunt who adored her nieces and nephew helping them in any way she could and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Gail and Kevin Murdoch, Joyce and Thomas Nocella all of Peabody, Robert J. Costello of Ogunquit and Peabody, and Carol and Donald Rogers of Amesbury; a sister-in-law, C; Eleanor Costello of Peabody; her great nieces and nephews and their spouses, Matthew and Melissa Murdoch, Catilin Murdoch, Luke and Nicole Murdoch, Robert and Kathrine Nocella, , Jamie Nocella, Jessie Nocella and Kelby Andino; her great, great nieces and nephews, Layla and Ellarosé Murdoch, Jack and his wife Teigan Murdoch and Ophelia Andino. She was the sister of the late Peabody Police Chief Robert J. Costello, Ann Marie Costello and William J. Costello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Chestnut St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
