Obituary of Hilda I Mendousa

Hilda I Mendousa, 92, of Peabody and formerly of Somerville, died Tuesday morning at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Irene (Costa) Mendousa. She was raised and educated in Somerville and has spent the last 14 years living in Peabody. Hilda spent her working career at Harvard University in various capacities and retired as a grant research writer many years ago. Hilda is survived by her sister, Irene Houle of Peabody and by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Celia Pagliura, Mary Ardizzoni, and Rose Mendousa and by her brothers, Joseph and Anthony Mendousa. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of fowlers, donations can be made in her name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St, Danvers, MA 01923.
