Farewell, Jim, a safe journey to your final "home" at last with my sister Dolores. We are saddened we did not get to see you before you left us so suddenly, but relieved to know you did not suffer for long. Roland and I had planned to fly up for your funeral, but were warned that it would be too risky with both of us susceptible to the coronavirus. In my weekly telephone visits with Beth, she kept us informed of your health and your new home at Kaplan Estates. We're so glad your last 6 months there were enjoyable and that you adjusted well, meeting your new friends there and reuniting with some you knew well. Roland says "happy boating" to you, something you both shared and enjoyed. We have lots of wonderful memories of our visits with you, Dolores, Beth and family over the years and photos to cherish. God Bless you, Beth, for your loving care and concern for your Dad since your Mom passed. It was her final wish to all of us to take care of her Jim.
Much Love, "Auntie" Ruth and Uncle Roland

Beth, We are thinking of you and all the family and so wish we could be there to honor Uncle Jim. I will always remember him taking us to the firehouse as kids and getting to sit in the fire engine. Listening to the emergency scanner at your house also made a big impression on me as a kid. He loved to play ABBA for us and I think of him every time I hear an ABBA song or watch Mama Mia with Payton. She and I both love those movies. I will always remember his laugh and easygoing way. He was a mean cook in the kitchen and whipped up some memorable feasts. He will be most remembered for his dedication to the fire department and to his family. I know he's happy to be reunited with his beloved Delores. We love you Uncle Jim!
